One of the most common questions we get, usually alongside "what does it cost?" is: how long will this take? The honest answer is that a complete custom kitchen – from first conversation to finished installation – typically takes 10 to 20 weeks. Here's where that time goes.
The timeline, step by step
First conversation and site visit (1–2 weeks). We talk, we visit the room, we take measurements. This can usually be arranged within a week or two of your first enquiry.
Design and quotation (2–4 weeks). We draw up a proposal with 3D visualisations and a fixed price. This is where we work through materials, colours, interior fittings and all the details. Allow 2–4 weeks for this stage.
Approval and production slot (1–4 weeks). Once you approve the design and quote, we schedule a production slot. Our lead time varies by season – spring and early autumn are typically our busiest periods, so book early if you have a specific deadline.
Production (4–8 weeks). Every cabinet is cut, assembled and finished in our workshop. This is where the bulk of the time goes, and it can't be rushed without compromising quality.
Installation (3–7 days). We install at your home over several days, making all adjustments on-site.
What can make it take longer?
Very complex rooms with unusual angles or multiple intersecting elements take longer to design. Solid timber fronts or specialist finishes can extend the production time. And if you need your kitchen by a specific date – for a move, a renovation project or a celebration – it's always worth telling us upfront so we can plan accordingly.
Can it be done faster?
Sometimes, yes. If our production schedule has capacity and the design is straightforward, we can occasionally complete a project in 8–10 weeks. But we'd rather give you a realistic timeline and hit it than promise something we can't deliver.
